Men’s Weekly Outings
Over the last month, the Men’s Outings have been a little bit hampered by the wet weather, but Leigh Niven, our coordinator for the outings, reports that no amount of rain dampens the spirits of the “boys”, who are always keen to get on the road come Friday morning. The preferred BBQ lunches have been replaced with visits to several different clubs in the area on a quest to find the best fish and chips in the Manning Valley. The verdict is imminent, we are told.
Last week’s outing was a visit to the Australian Motorbike Museum in Nabiac. Everyone really enjoyed their time looking at the large collection of amazing motorcycles, trophies and advertising from a bygone era. When the stomachs started rumbling, Leigh and volunteer, Gabe Vincent, ferried the group to their lunch spot in Forster. Before the men were dropped back home, they made a special visit to one of their mates who is currently in hospital. He was reported saying that this gave him a special lift, seeing them all turn up at his bedside.
Hopefully the weather will brighten up soon, so that BBQ lunches are once more on the menu with the obligatory ice cream stop on the way home!
