Volunteer Week 2020
20 May 2020
This month MSS has proudly been partaking in Volunteer Week from Monday 18 to Sunday 24 May. The theme this year is “Changing Communities. Changing Lives.”
We took part in the Wave for Volunteers initiative to say thank you to our hard working volunteers, and you can see our contribution below.
MSS was built on a strong volunteer workforce and we celebrate the exceptional contribution our volunteers make to our work on an ongoing basis. Volunteer Week is an important event to raise awareness and pay well deserved gratitude to the volunteers around the country. MSS was founded as a volunteer organisation in the late 1970s under the banner of Manning Counselling Service, which has evolved into the far-reaching service we know as MSS today. From day one MSS has relied and depended upon the goodwill and dedication of volunteers and this remains as true today as ever. With around 180 volunteers contributing thousands of hours to our essential services, the contribution of our volunteers is significant. Our mission is to enhance the quality of people’s lives by providing services which enable them to live with dignity and respect. The volunteers of MSS assist us to deliver on that mission every single day and are an invaluable part of what we do.
Thank you MSS volunteers!
