Community Wellbeing July News

In the midst of the winter months, we have enjoyed some glorious days out and about, basking in the sunshine and keeping warm near the fires. July saw us visit a number of new venues, including The Salty Dog at Coloongolook and Kenny’s Thai Kitchen at Forster. Both served fantastic meals and looked after our group incredibly well. A trip to Andy’s Cherry Pie store at Coolongolook was a necessity to purchase scrumptious Cherry Pies to devour with some fresh cream once home.
Christmas in July was an enjoyable day for all who attended. Once the logistical nightmare of transporting over 60 people to Wauchope was mastered, the day went along without a hitch. Wauchope Country Club welcomed us with a lovely venue decorated in the spirit of Christmas. We enjoyed fantastic service and delicious food! Raffles and trivia, musical entertainment, and fun with friends was all included in the day.
Krambach Hotel is also one of the favourite “country charm” venues to visit, and just sometimes, we encounter more than we expect. After a lovely hot meal, and whilst getting ready to depart, one of the locals, “Rocko”, decided he would like to join our group! Needless to say, all were very welcoming!
And to finish off the month, a game of Ten Pin Bowling was enjoyed by those who attended. Always a bit of fun, rivalry, and plenty of laughter! It’s great to see people stepping out of their comfort zones and giving different things a go.
