Making Time for Mum 2022

This year’s Making Time for Mum was a fantastic night out for the 161 guests who attended. The Disney theme was embraced with gusto and more than $1400 was raised through the raffle, with some great prizes won including a TV. A huge thanks to all the local businesses who generously donated prizes or funds – your contribution helped make the night a great success. After a vote on the night, next year’s theme was chosen: Pyjama Party!

This year for the 2022 NAIDOC week celebrations, the MSS Families team approached four local preschools with the opportunity to showcase some art and enter MSS’s very own art competition/showcase. Each preschool was presented with a canvas on which to create and design their own interpretation of this year’s NAIDOC theme: “GET UP, STAND UP, SHOW UP”.

It was great to see so the finished artworks which are now on display in our Families office. MSS gifted each participating preschool with a book pack.

Teddy Bear Picnic – 7th September 2022

Our Child, Youth and Family workers, Bec and Tenille, attended Uniting’s Teddy Bear Picnic at Cundletown Community Gardens to celebrate Child Protection Week. It was great turnout with more than 60 families attending. MSS set up with lots of goodies to share, and our piggy banks were a big hit with children and parents/carers. Everyone enjoyed the free ice-cream van, arts and crafts stations and lots of giveaways for the families. This was a great opportunity to connect with out local community – with thanks to Uniting for inviting MSS to be part of this wonderful event.
