Our Leadership Team


nikki-clancyNikki Clancy – CEO

Nikki’s strong leadership skills and commitment to the values of MSS lead to her being appointed CEO in February 2018. Nikki began her career at MSS as the Team Leader, Child and Family in 2010. Since then she has managed the Ageing and Disability team as well as the Connected Families team, giving her a wealth of knowledge and experience in the suite of programs run by MSS. Nikki became Acting CEO in February 2017.

She is values-driven, has a ‘hands-on’ management style and is committed to bringing best practice to the not-for-profit sector.

Prior to this role, Nikki worked in the Early Childhood sector developing and managing sizeable early childhood centres in the Newcastle region. She holds undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications with a Graduate Diploma in Human Services (Child and Adolescent Welfare) and also qualifications in Early Childhood.


Joshua Rogers – Manager, Community Wellbeing

Joshua has been at MSS since 2010, starting off as a NILS officer and moving into a senior support role, then management. Joshua has a personal approach and cares for the staff and clients his teams support. His approachable manner provides his team with the support they need to continue to deliver high quality services to the Social Support, Respite, Domestic Assistance and No Interest Loans teams. Joshua has a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) and a Diploma in Information Technology.


Richard Wallis – Acting Manager, Positive Ageing

Richard first volunteered with MSS in 2017 and very soon gained a role within the Home Safety team and assisting with the My Meals service, before taking on the NILS (No Interest Loan Scheme) Facilitator role.  Within 12 months of joining MSS, Richard was seconded to Acting Manager for our Port Macquarie office and has since taken over as Acting Manager, Positive Ageing with responsibility for the Home Safety and Volunteer Resources services.  Richard brings with him 25 years of management and leadership experience from a range of industries and environments, with a personal focus that seeks the best opportunities for growth for both clients and team members.


Steve PanosSteve Panos –  Manager, Finance and Administration

Steve is a qualified Accountant with a Bachelor of Business (major in Accounting). Steve has had a comprehensive work journey working for over 13 years as an Assistant Accountant, Financial Accountant & Transaction Services Accountant. In these roles, Steve gained the necessary experience to overcome a wide range of Accounting & Finance challenges that directly impacted organisational performance. Steve then ventured into small business for over 12 years and well exceeded all set expectations. He decided to share his expertise through teaching Business and Accounting at TAFE NSW before joining the MSS team in November 2016.  Steve is passionate about family and community and his personable approach is held in high regard.


Renee Scarlett

Renee Scarlett –  Manager, Connected Families

Renee was appointed Manager for the Connected Families team in 2018 after a 12-month period in the Acting Manager’s role. Renee has been with MSS since 2014 as a Family Support Worker in both our Gloucester and Taree offices. Renee has 20 years experience working in community services roles including Early Childhood Education, Coordinator of After School and Vacation Care Services, Youth Development Officer, Domestic Violence Specialist Worker, program facilitation and Team Leadership roles. Renee has qualifications in Community Services and Frontline Management and a wealth of experience working collaboratively with Government and non-Government agencies to promote positive outcomes for clients and community.


John Cooke – Manager, Port Macquarie and Acting Manager, Positive Ageing, Taree

John has ten years management experience working for a charitable organisation responsible for the delivery of services within a residential aged care facility.  Appointed to the role of Manager for our Port Macquarie team in March 2018, he hopes to infect others with his passionate commitment to customer service.  John has the logistical and people management skills to introduce, deliver and expand an array of services within the Port Macquarie and Hastings communities.

With a Bachelor of Law degree, certification as a trainer and assessor and formal qualifications in management and auditing management systems. John is committed to continuing quality improvement and believes that constant monitoring and evaluation of services will enable his team to deliver services in a way that allows MSS clients to    live with dignity and respect within our community.
