Justice Diversion Project – Anger Management/DRUMBEAT
11 Apr 2017
Luke and Patricia facilitate the DRUMBEAT group at MSS, Taree over a ten week period. They incorporate drumming and time for the young people to share their stories by building up trust and confidence. The participants are referred to MSS through Juvenile Justice with the aim that with the right support, the young people build up their self-esteem and improve their skills to deal with difficult choices and events. Luke and Patricia are both available to either refer the participants to other appropriate services or support them in a one-on-one capacity.
The Justice Diversion Project is funded through the Indigenous Advancement Strategy (IAS) which is an initiative of the Australian Government.

Biripi and MSS networking lunch
21 Mar 2016
Biripi and MSS came together over a lovely lunch to learn more about what supports each service offered and to look at ways in which the services could better work together. From Biripi we had midwives, family workers, sexual assault counsellors and mental health workers and from MSS there were family workers, counsellors and no interest loans workers. The workers enjoyed speed networking with each other learning more about each individual workers role.
From this event some great relationships were built and we look forward to everyone working together to achieve positive outcomes for our community.
