This service maintains a focus on the carer by allowing them some respite hours when caring for a family member with dementia or memory loss concerns.
As a client of Respite Services, the available activities include:
Centre Based Support: respite service offering social contact for people with dementia or memory concerns. Activities are provided to suit clients’ interests, abilities and wishes in a centre-based environment; activities may include singing, games, arts and crafts etc.
Carer Support Group: meets on a monthly basis.
In Home Respite: this service is designed to enable a carer the time required to complete activities and tasks outside of the home, which cannot otherwise be attended to. During In Home Respite a volunteer spends time with the care recipient, enabling the carer freedom and peace of mind to participate in life outside the home environment.
