Social Support Outing to Port Stephens
25 May 2017
MSS recently took 31 of our clients on a three-day, two-night trip to Port Stephens. Accommodation was more than adequate, with each room at the Marina Resort having a lovely view of Nelson Bay.
A lift at the resort assisted clients to and from the restaurant and their rooms, making access easy for all. Breakfasts and dinners provided by Marina Resort were delicious, with all clients’ needs catered for. Some highlights of the trip were a delightful drive to Tanilba Bay and Lemontree Passage, with the weather being absolutely perfect, clients keenly enjoyed the outdoors, views of the bays, and each others company. Lunch at Murrays Brewery and Winery was a particularly delicious, five-star meal set in Murray’s beautiful grounds, among huge gums and vineyards.
All were reluctant to leave, however the shopaholics amongst the group needed a fix, so downtown Nelson Bay was the shopping area of choice! Happy Hour followed, back in the Marina Restaurant, taking in the magnificent view of the Bay, and another delicious dinner was provided. Our final day included a very special treat, a high tea at the Anchorage Resort, which was fit for a king or queen. Clients were treated to a glass of bubbles, yummy sandwiches, hors d’oeuvres, cakes, tea and coffee, all served in beautiful chinaware and glassware. The bay view at the Anchorage was spectacular!
As the weather had turned by this time, we opted to head north before the forecast rain hit, and all clients were safely tucked up at home by 5 pm with some wonderful new memories to share with family and friends.
